Shelly is the Marketing and Membership Coordinator of Texas Downtown. She previously served as the Director of Community and Economic Development with the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), as well as the Assistant State Coordinator and Small Business Specialist for the Texas Main Street Program at the Texas Historical Commission. Shelly was the Main Street program manager of the Great American Main Street Award (GAMSA)-winning city of Georgetown for 13 and a half years and previously in two other Texas communities, Taylor and Breckenridge. She is a certified Professional Community and Economic Developer (PCED) and has served on the Texas Downtown Board as a past president. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1995 with a Bachelor of Journalism, majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Business.
