Engagement and Activation Coordinator

Work will focus primarily on public space activation including placemaking events, community engagement and events coordination, data collection and analysis, and administrative support. Salary: $18.14 – $23.29/ depending on qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of placemaking activation events in the downtown district. Provide promotional campaign support, particularly in the areas of customer service, research, data collection, analysis, and public outreach. Oversee third-party event permits city wide and coordinate communication between necessary City departments. Act as a liaison between non-profit groups and businesses in the assistance of planning events. Coordinate and monitor activation event timelines and ensure deadlines are met. Run statistical reports and related metrics for events and promotions. Coordinate logistical and administrativeneedsfor Maintain events database and calendar to maximize activation and avoid overlapping utilization. May developing marketing materials and as needed providing on-site support. Prepare written reports, presentations, communication, or correspondence on behalf of the department. Some office support or administrative functions including filing, organizing, researching and coordinating purchases, and assisting with overflow work. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree Two years related experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job's essential functions. Preferred Qualifications Education/ Experience: Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Event Planning or Management, Marketing, Communications and Hospitality, or similar field of study. At least four (4) years of event or performance coordination experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Exceptional organizational skills Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal Deep knowledge of downtown communities and the public places people share. Customer service skills and experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere Comprehensive knowledge of principles and techniques used in planning, coordinating, and servicing a variety of events. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of management, City officials, vendors, fellow employees and citizens Licenses and Certifications Valid Class C Texas driver's license Physical Requirements / Work Environment The incumbent works in an event environment. Occasional outside work and other physical labor such as standing, walking, bending/stooping, kneeling, and lifting or carrying a maximum of 50 lbs. Senior Planner of Beautification

THE CITY OF WACO SEEKS: A seasoned urban planner passionate about creating aesthetically pleasing and vibrant communities. We seek a highly skilled planner to focus on efforts to enhance the visual appeal of our city. As a vital member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the urban landscape, fostering community pride, and contributing to the overall well-being of our Waco residents. Primary Duties Plans development and implementation of the beautification program, including creating Citywide performance indicators and progress benchmarks. Initial focus will be on beautification of major road corridors and public rights of way, identifying and developing current baseline operations, ideal standards, and planning programs to fill the gaps. Project management of beautification projects from inception to completion, including scoping, budget management, inter-agency coordination, design and construction services, stakeholder and public communications, and close-out; works closely with other divisions, including Parks and Recreation, Solid Waste, and Capital Improvement Project staff on various projects as needed. Plans, programs, and coordinates city bridge and interstate lighting. Provides technical assistance to internal and external customers in design fields such as community and neighborhood planning, urban design, graphic design, and landscape architecture. Supports procurement and management of various purchase and professional service contracts as required to accomplish program functions. May participate in and attend meetings of various Federal, State, regional, and local agencies as well as various community groups representing arts and beautification matters on behalf of the City. Coordinates issues with other departments, community groups and regional agencies; attends public meetings and presents information on regional planning and zoning issues; interprets and explains City codes, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
