About Texas Downtown Association

In the late 1970s, only a handful of Texas communities had active downtown organizations. Spread throughout the state, their opportunities to learn from one another and share successes were rare. In 1985, the Texas Downtown Association was officially formed, connecting communities who were committed to downtown revitalization.

Today we represent over 450 members from communities of all sizes, economic development corporations, Chambers of Commerce, merchants associations, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses.   

Board Member Applications

The TDA Board of Directors consists of a maximum of 15 members from small and large Texas communities, including two ex officio members from the Texas Main Street Program.  The current board includes representatives of city government, private business, downtown districts and associations and Main Street programs.  Directors are elected by the TDA membership at the annual meeting following recommendation by a nominating committee.

We are currently accepting applications from individuals who are interested in serving on the board. Click here to download the board application
